VIETNAM WON 4 INTERNATIONAL INFORMATION OLYMPIC MEDALS IN 2023

On the morning of September 2, the Ministry of Education and Training said that the Vietnamese national team participating in the 35th International Informatics Olympiad in 2023 includes 4 students, all 4 of them won medals, including 1 Gold Medal , 2 Silver Medals, 1 Bronze Medal.

Four students won medals

Accordingly, the Gold Medal belongs to student Nguyen Ngoc Dang Khoa, grade 11, High School for Gifted Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University).

Two Silver Medals went to students: Tran Xuan Bach, grade 12, High School for Gifted Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University); Nguyen Duc Thang, grade 11, Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted (Phu Tho province).

The Bronze Medal went to student Nguyen Quang Minh, grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University)

The 2023 International Informatics Olympiad will be held from August 28 to September 4 in the city of Szeged, Hungary. The exam had the official participation of 351 candidates from 89 countries and territories. As a result, 178 candidates won medals (30 Gold Medals, 58 Silver Medals and 90 Bronze Medals), accounting for 50.7% of the participating candidates and 40 candidates were awarded Certificates of Merit.

With 100% of candidates winning medals, the Vietnamese national team ranks in the group of 9 countries and territories achieving high results according to the medal table after countries: China, USA, Japan, Korea, Israel ...

According to the regulations of the 2023 International Informatics Olympiad Council, the exam has 2 official exam days. On each exam day, candidates take a computer programming test for 5 hours and solve 3 math problems with rich content.

Results are automatically scored online by the online scoring system and live scoreboards are announced throughout the two exam days. This year's exam is considered more difficult than previous years and has a number of different types of problems that require candidates' ability to flexibly apply knowledge and high creativity.
