Samsung launches Galaxy Chromebook for sale in Vietnam

Samsung and Google cooperate to bring new computer solutions to Vietnam. On September 12, Samsung and Google officially introduced the Galaxy Chromebook Go computer solution. The new laptop line from Samsung has a hinge that rotates 180 degrees, the lightest of the Chromebook lines, integrated with Google Education. This is one of Samsung's first products to run Google's Chrome OS, which is designed to be optimized for education, providing visual and enterprise lessons.

Previously, to experience the utility of the product, from the second quarter of 2023 until now, the company and AI Education have implemented many training sessions, introducing Google Workspace for Education solutions in 10 provinces and cities nationwide. The program has the participation of 500 students, 500 organizations, and about 2,000 teachers and leaders of educational institutions.

According to Samsung, during the experience, the device was well evaluated by students and teachers thanks to its slim, lightest design in the Chromebook series. With this new version, the company introduces two options: 14 inches - weight 1.14 kg or 11 inches - weight 1.06 kg. The next point, the device contributes to changing the mindset of choosing to buy a traditional computer when it no longer needs to rely too much on hardware power. All tasks move to the Internet environment, so computers are just pure communication devices, text editing or homework are all on built-in applications.

The strength of this is that just by manipulating and editing a document link, teachers can understand the implementation process of students. To meet learning needs, the machine integrates Google Workspace for Education solutions, allowing you to connect and work online anywhere. This is an ecosystem of apps designed by Google specifically for schools and home classrooms, including Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Docs, Sheet, Slides, Classroom, Assignments, Groups, Drive ... When you need to transfer data, you can use the Nearby Share feature, which applies when devices use Chrome OS together.

According to Samsung representatives, these features help accelerate the digital transformation process in the general education environment, optimizing costs. Users can also connect the device to the Samsung Flip screen to expand the presentation space, and design interactive classrooms to make lecture content more attractive and intuitive.

The machine configuration is also powerful enough for necessary tasks thanks to Chrome OS, Intel Celeron Processor N4500 processor with a maximum speed of 2.80 GHz. This structure supports the needs of word processing, and downloading applications online. The screen supports anti-glare technology and can study outdoors or edit documents on the go.

The Chromebook Go has a fast startup time of less than 10 seconds to be ready to use, reducing wait times. Rugged laptop design, pass 7 rigorous tests according to the military design standard MIL-STD-810G. According to the company's tests, the machine can withstand unexpected drops or bumps - which are unavoidable during use. The rotating, well-bearing hinge structure helps the screen open up to 180 degrees, thereby providing interesting experiences and easy-to-exchange information during large group learning.

The new generation integrates Wi-Fi 6, which speeds up the processing of website browsing, and online learning – an extremely necessary factor for online manipulation machines. However, users will need to buy an additional router that supports Wi-Fi 6. Various connection ports include two USB Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 port, a MicroSD multimedia card reader slot, and one headphone port. The Type-C port is quite popular today, both supporting charging and converting to a projection screen connector, meeting the needs of regular presentations, or copying and exchanging data. When meeting room equipment is connected, the machine loads just enough to present the data file.

Under test conditions, the battery lasted up to 12 hours. Practical experience with the screen at maximum brightness, the device starts up at 100% battery at 8h, continuous operation time except for a one-hour lunch break, open multiple browsers at the same time (text editing, checking mail, listening to music with Youtube). By 18h, when working hours end, the device has 5% battery, equivalent to more than 10 hours of use.
